Hello everyone, David here. The Blog for March is going to be dedicated to raising awareness of our Green Health Week 2021! Running from the 8th to 16th of May I want to spend some time to raise awareness of the activities that we are hoping to run during the 9 days.
So as I said in last month’s Blog Green Health Week is going to be returning from the 8th to the 16th of May! Last year because of COVID-19 we had to cancel our plans, which was such a shame as we know this is a week where we can highlight the best of what Green Health has to offer to the people of North Ayrshire. This year we are aiming to deliver a combination of events that people can take part in whether at home, in a nearby park or virtually. This presents challenges but also opportunities to reinvigorate peoples relationships with Greenspaces in North Ayrshire. We will have sessions on Bird ID for Beginners, Getting to Know your Local Green Health project and many more. Do you have a way in which you can contribute? Or do you fancy doing something a bit different that week? Keep an eye out on our social media e.g. Facebook and Twitter on @NAGreenHealth for more information.
As part of Green Health Week we are going to run our first virtual Green Health Network of the year and this will be a great opportunity for those involved or interested in Green Health to join in. How do we recover from COVID-19, who needs support to help get their activities going? What is going to be available over the next few months? We will be highlighting all of this as part of the network and introducing those groups that were successful in the recent Green Health Development Fund. Speaking of which.
We have finalised the successful applicants and groups that were awarded funding for Green Health Development Fund 2020/2021. We have 10 projects that will deliver quality Green Health programmes for a variety of people around the communities of North Ayrshire for 2021. You can see the list on the North Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership.
I am also happy to announce that The Conservation Volunteers Community Network is going to be FREE up until the end of the year 2021!
